@sethanikeem @Richard_Kadrey @jwomack The frustration for me always comes from the belief that audience is damn smart and wants better. The inner sneer that wants to cut out knowledge and mystery for easy narrative often seems to comes from a profound, misplaced superiority.

@Richard_Kadrey @jwomack Yes. He did ‰Û÷expendable chapters‰Ûª, but imagine them by other authors. That would have added a whole new element to his take on the conundrum of consciousness.

@sethanikeem @Richard_Kadrey @jwomack Though it has to be said, the dumb in politics has certainly been to the benefit of some and therefore looks a lot more purposeful than the lazy default of some production houses.

@Richard_Kadrey @jwomack The colonial, racist perspectives. The psychotic revenge of Van Helsing. The inaccurate geographies and flaws in folklore. His anger at himself for placing trust in Renfield.

@Richard_Kadrey @sethanikeem @jwomack One of the great flaws of the novel is the complete failure to explore Van Helsing beyond the glorious little hints that we get his wife betrayed him with a female vampire.
