@_bydbach_ I can help on this. Having grown up on the lore and land of England, I never needed a book for myself, except when it came to mushrooms. I can recommend two good field guides to English mushrooms.

@_bydbach_ It is so much harder for non-natives. Hence why I was consulting for a non-native on good books. Even as a native I would still use field guides for mushrooms. My top pick would be ‘Complete British Mushrooms and Toadstools’ by Paul Sterry as a first book.
