@SwanRiverPress In the patrolling and reporting of far right Twitter that happens as part of Folklore Against Fascism, I have noticed that a lot of the ethno-nationalists – the sort that attack SF as being too pro-diversity/‰Û÷ethnic suicide‰Ûª/‰Û÷degenerate‰Ûª – really like to use the term ‰Û÷West Brit‰Ûª.

Hookland 8/12/20 20:44:00

@SwanRiverPress To my mind, any slur favoured by the mob that also enjoys using the N-word and trolling with the programmed phrase ‰Û÷There‰Ûªs no such thing as black Irish, they‰Ûªve got to go back‰Ûª isn‰Ûªt exactly acceptable banter and might be passed it expiry date.

Hookland 8/12/20 20:45:39

@SwanRiverPress Language is feral and when the ethno-state numpties get a masturbatory glee out of typing a phrase, it‰Ûªs time to come up with another insult isn‰Ûªt it?

Hookland 8/12/20 20:52:25

@SwanRiverPress Whatever it meant to Joyce, it has evolved an additional definition in terms of exclusion by colour/cultural origin for Irish far right. I‰Ûªm with Dolly Parton on offence. Those using it disregarding its new meaning aren‰Ûªt the edgelord defenders of free speech they think they are.

@justrena @SwanRiverPress What it meant in 1920, 1970 or 2010 seems to have undergone a sea change in terms of its use on social media. There have to be better phrases for the lick spittle class without its newer connotations and I am sure they will emerge.

When you see phrases like ‘Doomsday church’ ‘missing time’ and ‘evidence of black magic in the surrounding woods’ in newspaper reports, how can you not be interested enough to at least pay the place a visit? – #MattAdams, 1980

@WitchOfLeeds @WhoTookMyName7 @ChrisJosiffe I used to be a West London squirrel shaman with my familiar and friend Bobby La-La, but my days in the cut-throat world of vision climbing the tree with Bobby were cut short by his poisoning. A loss I still mourn.

@WitchOfLeeds @WhoTookMyName7 @ChrisJosiffe In my West London Squirrel shaman days, the North London nut circuit was known to be particularly hardcore. As with most things shamanic, there are battles and there are secrets and I should not speak out of turn or of Chris’s famed exploits.

@1871_samuel It’s not about virture, it’s about not being a shitlark. If all you’ve got it is a set of pre-programmed Junior Lozza Fox what you doing hanging around here? You’re only going to get laughed at.

Hookland 8/12/20 22:47:55

@SianEsther It is, it really is. However, they need telling. If they get passes, if they feel comfortable, they only squat on the common land of folklore and make it a territory of grief, so we have to keep doing it. I suspect they’ve no idea how dull and un-edgelordy they are to us.
